Just Sold: 80776 Via Puerta Azul La Quinta
I just sold this SFR in the desert - aka episode 6 and most likely the season finale of “Have Car - Will Travel”.
That’s the series where a Beach Cities Real Estate Broker travels 50 miles north and south and over 100 miles east of where he lives in search of deals. I’m not sure if the show will be back for a 2nd season. I have to speak with the producer - my wife.
So to recap the original pitch to the network, “with fewer cars on the road due to WFO, let’s see how many miles this agent can put on his car.”
To recap the first 5 episodes:
the one where I leased a townhouse in Costa Mesa.
the one where I sold a townhouse in Thousand Oaks

ABOUT LA QUINTA (according to Ellis)
If you are not familiar with La Quinta, here’s what I can tell you.
Many people think of La Quinta as the leading golf destination in the US. As I’ve been voted “least likely to ever be seen on a golf course” on multiple occasions, don’t take my word for it. But I do hear that there are more than 25 golf courses in La Quinta, which to me seems like a lot.
Overall, La Quinta is considered a great place to live whether full time (it does get hot in the summer) or as a vacation spot. And it’s not all golf. There’s the usual outdoor activities all surrounded by gorgeous vistas of the mountains.
Plus fine dining, shopping and everything else you wold expect in upscale desert living. Speaking of which, curiously a lot of people, both in LA and around the country in refer to the towns in the desert generically as “Palm Springs” although Palm Springs is only on of the cities.
GEM OF THE DESERT OR THE FIFTH?
You might hear La Quinta referred to as the fifth, most likely because it means the fifth in Spanish. But like the 5th what? Are we counting towns in the Coachella Valley. Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells and then La Quinta? What happened to Cathedral City?
MAYBE I’M NOT DONE DRIVING YET
I’ve still got gas in the car so if you’re interested in buying in the desert…..
