ABOUT THE REDONDO BEACH GOLDEN HILLS

One of the most common questions I get as a Redondo Beach Real Estate Broker is about the different neighborhoods or as I refer to them, the "micr-markets". And one of the neighborhoods people have the most questions about is the Redondo Beach Golden Hills and the section called the "Golden Triangle".

The Golden Hills are highly desirable because it is the furthest west of the North Redondo Beach neighborhoods meaning closer to the Beach. And in Southern CA being close to the beach is definitely a thing. South Redondo Beach has homes west of PCH and actually beach adjacent on The Esplanade. The second major attraction is the schools. And lastly, the neighborhood is primarily Single Family Residences and not the condos and townhomes that are so prevalent in other parts of Redondo Beach. As for those houses, most of them are what is referred to as "Tall and Skinny" because, well they are tall and skinny and sit on tight 2500 Sq Ft lots. While you may find a few traditional homes on 5000 Sq Ft lots, they are few and far between in this part of Redondo Beach. A further subsection of this neighborhood has been referred to as the "Golden Triangle". That's the part of the Golden Hills just south of Artesia Blvd and West of Aviation Blvd. The border forms a triangle with Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. While many of the homes in the triangle are west of homes in East Manhattan Beach, they are all east of Hermosa Beach. Harper Ave is actually the dividing street between Hermosa and Redondo and (at least of of now) you can literally see in the pavement where the dividing line is.
